TURF MANAGEMENT FIELD USAGE HOTLINE: 885-9928

“On Hold”- A field may be placed on hold, and then it will be followed by an update time.

“Game Time Decision”- With approaching inclement weather, a game time decision may be necessary.  Likewise, if a field may or may not be ready, a game time decision will be called.

“Field Open”- Following inclement weather, a field may be open, and thus the department will designate open fields in this situation.  If the field is open, and inclement weather arrives, it is the responsibility of the user to determine whether or not to continue or resume play.

“User Discretion”- In the event that no staff is on duty, the announcement for user discretion will be made.  With user discretion, we have empowered the user to make a common sense decision regarding whether or not the field is in condition for play.

“Field Closed”- Poor weather conditions or unsafe field conditions that may arise are the primary reasons for athletic field closures.  Experience shows that the majority of turf damage occurs with field usage following inclement weather.  If a field is damaged as a result of unauthorized play, leagues and field users will be held responsible.
