The Union City Babe Ruth League & Union City Turf Management are proud to host the 15 year old 2010 West Tennessee State Tournament. Games will be played on both Thompson Field & Elam Stadium @ LH Ladd Field. The field will consist of 10 teams from the Mississippi River to Nashville. UC Messenger Field of the Year article
Jim Cawley passed away in June of 2008. Jim was one of the best sports broadcasters in the business, he was also a stable fixture in building Union City Babe Ruth Baseball. Jim was very instrumental in making UCBR one of the best youth baseball organizations in the state. Jim will be sadly missed at Thompson Field in Union City. The Union City City Council voted to rename the Thompson Field press box in memory of Jim. Also, the War Memorial Stadium press box was rededicated as the Jim Cawley Pressbox.
