The 2012 UCHS baseball and softball seasons begin in February with official practices and the seasons begin in March!!!!

Elam Stadium @ LH Ladd Field and Thompson Field will be the host for the first annual LH Ladd Memorial Classic March 21st - 24th.  Crockett County, Dyersburg, Lone Oak, Calloway County, Russellville, AL, Huntingdon and Union City will be featured in this early season tournament.

The St. Jude Baseball Classic will be March 29th - 31st at Elam Stadium @ LH Ladd Field & Thompson Field.  McKenzie, Lake County, Owensboro Catholic, Westview and Obion Central will be participating in this traditional high school baseball classic.

Jim Cawley passed away in June of 2008.  Jim was one of the best sports broadcasters in the business, he was also a stable fixture in building Union City Babe Ruth Baseball.  Jim was very instrumental in making UCBR one of the best youth baseball organizations in the state.  Jim will be sadly missed at Thompson Field in Union City.  The Union City City Council voted to rename the Thompson Field press box in memory of Jim.  Also, the War Memorial Stadium press box was rededicated as the Jim Cawley Pressbox.
